LAU MESTRE
Lau Mestre, a 29 year old native of Mallorca, has always been passionate about various artistic creation techniques. She began ceramic classes at age four and ventured into painting her first canvas at sixteen.
After completing high school in Alcudia, she pursued an Artistic Bachelor in Inca and then moved to Barcelona to study Fine Arts. Dissatisfied with the practical aspects of her studies, she switched to a professional two-year course at Llongueras Academy in Palma de Mallorca.
Still seeking more practical skills, in September 2019, Laura enrolled in Stick Art Studio an artistic makeup academy in Barcelona. She was especially interested in body painting techniques however, the pandemic arrived and that part of her training was cancelled.
After all those events, she did not give up on her quest to find something artistic that fulfilled her. So just after finishing her course in September 2020, she reached out to Ivan Cubas, a famous tattoo artist in Mallorca to ask if he could teach her how to start tattooing. She then trained for three months as a tattoo artist in Ivan’s studio Cota Gallery.
Lau's tattoo career has flourished since her first professional tattoo in early 2021.
In 2022, she tattooed across Mallorca, Ibiza, Sicily, Turin, Lisbon, and Barcelona. In 2023, she embarked on an amazing two-month 'European Tattoo Road Trip,' tattooing in cities like Lyon, Zurich, Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Rotterdam, Brussels and Paris. After that, she returned to Mallorca, where she worked at Feel Again Tattoo for six months.
Now in 2024, Lau has been travelling and tattooing in many different places like Imperia, the Canary Islands, Barcelona, Madrid and of course her hometown Mallorca.
